Living in Nashville, TNSouthern Charm, country music, weather to please anyone because we have it all eventually, politics, barbeque and a tendency to forget to use the turn signal-that’s Nashville in a nutshell. To visit Nashville is to fall in love with a people, a lifestyle and a history.
What started out as shared hunting grounds for the the Cherokee, Choctow, Chickasaw, and Creek Indian tribes has transformed into a city where dreams come true and hope springs eternal.
Nashville rests on pillars of music. …once again Nashville becomes the shared “hunting ground” for numerous forms of music including:
- Bluegrass or Fiddle Music (it’s roots are in the southern Appalachians)
- Country/Western Music developed in Texas and Oklahoma the 1930's and blends big band, blues, dixieland, and jazz and made famous by Roy Rogers and Gene Autry in numerous western movies featuring this music.
- The Nashville Sound- a combination of storytelling honky-tonk and the smoother sound of the big swing bands with a bit of jazz thrown in. Artists famous for this sound were Patsy Cline, George Jones, Eddy Arnold, and Tammy Wynette.
- Outlaw Country-country joins rock n roll with artists Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, HanK Williams Jr. and Charley Pride, Charlie Daniels.
- New traditionalists-artists merge the old traditional sounds of bluegrass and storytelling honky tonk with the new edgier sound to keep County Music one of the most popular forms of music in America.
