Tullahoma, TN – “Tennessee’s Rising Star”

Set amidst the rolling hills and woods of Middle Tennessee, the small city of Tullahoma, TN dubs itself “Tennessee’s Rising Star” for it’s significant contribution to America’s aerospace industry. Tullahoma is home to the University of Tennessee’s Space Institute and the Arnold Engineering Development Center (AEDC), one of the world’s foremost flight testing facilities where most of the U.S. government’s inventory of missiles and spacecraft were developed. AEDC played an instrumental role in the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo missions as well as the space shuttle program and the international space station. The Center continues to be the area’s largest employer.

Tullahoma’s status as a high-tech and higher education center sets the community apart as a cosmopolitan gem with all the southern hospitality of small town Tennessee. Residents take pride in the educational opportunities available to their children as the local public schools consistently rank among the best in the state and the lone parochial school, St. Paul the Apostle Catholic School, regularly has students that score in the top 3% on nationwide standardized tests. Located just off I-24, Tullahoma is only a short drive away from Nashville to the north and Chattanooga to the southeast. Whiskey lovers shouldn’t miss the chance to tour the country’s oldest distillery in nearby Lynchburg, where they’ve been producing Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey since 1866. Families can enjoy hiking, swimming, hunting, fishing and boating in Tullahoma’s abundant parks and waterways including Tims Ford Lake, Woods Reservoir and Normandy Lake.
