Welcome to Bryan, Texas

Bryan and College Station are directly adjacent cities that together make up the Bryan-College Station metropolitan area, the 16th largest metropolitan area in Texas with over 203,000 people. Each community has its own distinct history and culture.

Bryan began as a railroad shipping depot the transport of people, cotton, and other commerce on the ever expanding Texas rail system and became incorporated as a city in 1872. As agricultural commerce grew with the immigration of large numbers of Czech, German and Italian immigrants and oil and gas exploration and production expanded, so did the downtown district and the surrounding community of Bryan.

Bryan, Texas was one first cities to receive a $10,000.00 endowment from philanthropist Andrew Carnegie, Bryan founded its first library the Carnegie Library in 1902 and is the oldest existing Carnegie Library in the state. Bryan also offers a new educational facility for Blinn College with an enrollment of approximately 10,000 students.

Today Bryan has a robust economy based upon traditional agricultural commerce, oil and gas production, as well as banking, retail, and medical facilities. Bryan offers quality schools, great shopping, safe neighborhoods and quality healthcare.

Housing options in Bryan run from 100+ year historical homes in the Bryan Historical District to several outstanding golf course communities such as Traditions and Miramont, with many other types of homes and price ranges in between.
