Plano, Texas AttractionsPlano, Texas has ample business and career opportunities, but what residents love best is the city’s wide selection of attractions and entertainment, plus the fact that the best of Dallas is right at their fingertips. Plano has its own active arts community with the premier venue being the ArtCentre of Plano, located in a historic downtown building. The ArtCentre hosts a variety of theatre performances as well as local and national art exhibits, but if you want to see international works, the Dallas Museum of Art is just a short 20 minute drive away. Plano offers several intriguing historic attractions that make great afternoon outings for the entire family. The city offers a historic walking tour of more than a dozen restored homes and buildings, as well as the Interurban Museum in Plano’s downtown area. For a little taste of farm-life, both the Heritage Farmstead and the Fairview Farms let visitors experience firsthand the ins and outs of the farm in the early 1900’s. Also, about 7 miles away in the town of Parker, TX, Plano residents can visit the Southfork Ranch, made famous by the long-running TV show “Dallas.” In addition to its art venues and historic sites, Plano offers the Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary, as well as the nearby Dallas World Aquarium & Rainforest and the Dallas Zoo.
