Welcome to Taneytown, MD

The modest community of Taneytown, located in Carroll County just south of the Pennsylvania state line, was founded in 1754 and boasts a long and rich history. As a result, much of Taneytown real estate is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Today, just over 5,000 Taneytown real estate owners call the community home.

Taneytown’s proximity to such attractions as Gettysburg, PA, and Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, as well as its accessibility via the Baltimore-Washington Thurgood Marshall Airport, adds to the town’s appeal. But it’s the picturesque, country charm of Taneytown real estate that is the real draw. Six public parks call Taneytown real estate home, adding to the community’s natural beauty. This tranquil setting, combined with the town’s two elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school, makes Taneytown real estate ideal for families with school-age children.
