Welcome to Temple Terrace, FloridaTemple Terrace is an incorporated city in Hillsborough County, Florida located northeast of Tampa. The city is predominantly a residential community located close to the University of South Florida and within an easy commute to downtown Tampa. Temple Terrace has an average year round temperature of 73 degrees and sits approximately 85 feet above sea level. As a result, Temple Terrace is one of the only locations in Florida featuring several homes with basements. With a population of just over 23,000, Temple Terrace places a strong emphasis on family and recreation. The Temple Terrace Golf and Country Club is home to one the largest PGA courses in Florida and also offers a swimming pool, teenage activities, two restaurants and a ballroom. The Temple Terrace Family Recreation Complex features basketball (indoor and outdoor), racquetball, volley ball, tennis and three swimming pools. Classes are offered throughout the year in gymnastics, ballet and yoga and the Complex also features after school and summer programs. The Omar K. Lightfoot Center hosts many senior citizen events, classes and field trips. The Temple Terrace Youth Sports Complex offers league sports, baseball and soccer options for children and adults. The public library, open every day, is conveniently located and features over 93,000 books and periodicals and offers a variety of children’s programs. Churches from most denominations are located in Temple Terrace or close by for the convenience of its residents and the city is home to both public and private schools serving all grades. Temple Terrace residents are served by a fully staffed police and fire department with an outstanding record for responsiveness.
