Welcome to Toney, AL

Toney, Alabama is a small unincorporated community within Madison County, located just 16 miles northwest of Huntsville. With small businesses and little commercial development, Toney is mostly residential, offering a mixture of rural settings and established neighborhoods. Many of Toney’s 13,000 residents enjoy a pleasant commute to Huntsville (28 minutes), Decatur (39 minutes), and other areas within Northern Alabama and Southern Tennessee. Toney is served by the Madison County School System, with 15 elementary schools, four middle schools, five high schools, and a career tech center. Several MCSS schools rank highly among the top schools in the state. Toney residents also have easy access to the region’s colleges and universities, including the University of Alabama-Huntsville, Alabama A&M University, and Calhoun Community College. In addition to the great career and education opportunities found in Madison County, Toney residents also have many exciting Madison County attractions to keep the whole family busy year round. From the Alabama Constitutional Village and the U.S. Space and Rocket Center to the Harmony Park Safari and the Huntsville Museum of Art, there is something fun for everyone in Toney and Madison County.
