Located in Montgomery County, Blacksburg, Virginia, is a town that thrives in cultural and recreational activities. With the stunning New River Valley serving as its backdrop, it is the largest Town in Virginia. Established in 1798, the town of Blacksburg was home to a mere two dozen families. To date, the current population has grown to approximately 40,000 and occupies over 19.4 miles. To this day, several properties in Blacksburg continue to be listed on the National Register of Historic Properties. Although Montgomery is the second fastest growing county west of Roanoke, Blacksburg continues to believe strongly in maintaining a positive, well balanced living environment and community.
