Suburban Washington D.C. is home to small communities that share a common bond: an old-fashioned and small town charm. Clifton, V.A., is no exception to these characteristics. The town is unique with no traffic signals and is located on the southwest corner of Fairfax County. Named a National Historic District, Clifton residents enjoy the leisurely atmosphere that the town provides.
Clifton’s oldest building was established in 1771, and is called the “Brigadoon of Virginia.” The city is also home to Chapel Road Park, with remnants of the area’s railroad days. Clifton Heights was created in 2003 and pushed the cities population to just over 200 people. The development provided housing and business to the community.
The movie Sleepless in Seattle was written in Clifton, taking its inspiration from the quaint suburbs, and the movie Breaking News also had scenes filmed in the area.
While Clifton itself is a very small community with less then 500 residents, there are numerous cities around the area with larger populations and more chances for shopping, theater shows and schools. Convenient Metro access serves the community, providing an easy commute to the surrounding areas. Clifton’s excellent community is a superb place to purchase a home. Professionals will love the easy commute and access to work that the town offers. Do not hesitate, and find out more about Clifton real estate today!
