Welcome to Fluvanna County, Virginia

Located in the Piedmont Plateau range of Virginia, Fluvanna County is blessed with gentle rolling hills and covers 282 square miles, of which two-thirds are forested. Most of the remaining open land is used for farming and grazing.

Fluvanna County is located about 25 miles from Charlottesville, 60 miles from Richmond, 120 miles from Washington, D.C. and inside 45 miles of the famous Skyline Drive which makes it a fabulously located county.

With a population of about 25,000, Fluvanna County, Virginia is growing more than four times faster than the state and is the second fastest growing county in Virginia. Most of the residents of this charming county can be found around the 352-acre man-made lake, Lake Monticello. The remainder of the county is generally rural and offers the best of that kind of lifestyle. This pristine lake offers swimming, fishing, boating, water-skiing or anything else you enjoy on open water. Five beaches surround the lake along with a marina and boat ramp making it the place to be on a pleasant or hot day. Soccer, baseball, basketball and more await you on the number of fields, courts and playgrounds. If golf is more of your forte, take a tour around the PGA championship golf course located here as well.

Businesses are thriving in Fluvanna County, in fact they are thriving quicker than anywhere else in Central Virginia according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Although agriculture and forestry are still the stronghold of the economy here in Fluvanna County, retail and the service industry are on the rise. Keep an eye out on this place, it has wonderful possibilities awaiting you.
