Dale City is literally a town built around its neighborhoods. Real-estate developer Cecil “Dale” Hlyton and his company started to develop affordable housing in Dale City, with each neighborhood ending in the word “dale.” The town streets are also in alphabetical order, for example; Ashdale, Birchdale, Cloverdale and Darbydale all appearing one after another when traveling through the city blocks East to West. The Hylton Group is still around today, creating homes with their same unique moniker of, what else, but “dale.”
Dale City is known for its affordable housing compared to the rest of the region. Still, the housing market boasts beautiful homes including single family units, townhouses, and condominiums.
