Named after Jeremiah Rust, who donated land to the settlement in 1784, Rustburg has for many years been a popular residential choice for those working in the growing city of Lynchburg, the region’s commercial hub, located just 10 miles north. From its peaceful rural setting to its well-established subdivisions, Rustburg is a great place for growing families. The community is served by Campbell County Schools, and is home to Rustburg Elementary, Rustburg Middle School, Rustburg High School, and the Fray Educational Center. Rustburg graduates and adults also have access to Lynchburg’s many institutions of higher learning, such as Central Virginia Community College, Virginia University of Lynchburg, Randolph College, and Lynchburg College.
