Located in the historic Shenandoah Valley, Winchester, Virginia is conveniently situated off Interstate 81 with Routes 7 and 50 running into the metropolitan areas of Northern Virginia.

With a booming economy, low unemployment rate, and growth in retail sales and high tech industry, Winchester and Frederick County offer something for everyone. In recent years the building industry has provided the area with several planned communities for families, as well as active seniors. These neighborhoods have become a welcomed alternative to the bustle of Northern Virginia, while maintaining the convenience of a city. Due to the growth we have seen in our area, there has been a large boost in local schools. There are several new schools in Frederick County, including a brand new elementary school that opened in 2009. John Handley High School recently underwent a major renovation and expansion, as did Daniel Morgan Middle School. Education continues to be a major lure to the Winchester community.

George Washington made his way through the streets of Winchester, Virginia at one time during his younger days. Here he had both his first elected office as well as his first job. Learn more about it at George Washington’s Office Museum. This city is filled with mounds of other historical artifacts, monuments and more. Winchester played a significant role in the Civil War, catch up on those facts at the Old Court House Civil War Museum. If the present time is more appealing to you, take a saunter around Old Town Winchester and enjoy the outdoor cafes, quaint shops, and year-round farmers' market among other things.
