Resting at the foot of majestic Mt. Rainier and 10 miles east of Tacoma, Puyallup is home to 35,000 people. The city got its unique name from a Native American tribe that lived here when it was first found by European settlers in the 1830s. The Puyallup tribe was named for their hospitable spirit.
