The Community of Eagle, WI

Eagle is a small community in the southwestern corner of the county. The town is probably best known for Old World Wisconsin, a popular tourist attraction that was inspired by the outdoor museums of Europe. The "living" museum contains 65 Wisconsin pioneer farmhouses, barns and shops on 576 acres of wilderness. Visitors can ride a tram to one of the ethnic farmsteads, take a leisurely stroll through the 1870’s Crossroads Village complete with turn-of-the-century shops or watch hands-on activities and historic crafts such as quilting, wool rug braiding and blacksmithing.

The Kettle Moraine State Forest, South Unit Forest Headquarters and Museum are also located in Eagle. The Kettle Moraine offers camping, swimming, boating, nature, hiking, biking, cross country skiing, horse and snowmobile trails, hunting and a scenic drive.

Eagle also is home to several large, upscale residential developments in the area, many of which have set aside significant areas for wetlands and wildlife.
