Welcome to Waynesboro, Virginia

Waynesboro, Virginia, located in picturesque Augusta County and at the base of the fantastic Blue Ridge Mountains is certain to be a town you'd love to call home. Named for the hero Mad Anthony Wayne of the Revolutionary War, this quaint city has retained its charm and uniqueness while moving forward as well.

Centrally located in the eastern part of the Shenandoah Valley, Waynesboro is a quick 90 miles from Virginia's capital, Richmond, and 125 miles from the bustling commerce of Washington, DC.

Due to its great location, views of the valleys and mountains are available throughout the city of Waynesboro. Offering elevations ranging between 1,050 and 1,800 feet above sea level, the possibilities are endless. Outdoor activities abound along the nearby Blue Ridge Parkway Appalachian Trail and the South River, a fork of the Shenandoah River that runs directly through Waynesboro.

Waynesboro is the place to be if you enjoy festivals. The Virginia Fly Fishing Festival comes to town in April which hosts one of the country's largest Soap Box Derbies; the Virginia Fall Foliage Festival is another classic, as is the First Night Waynesboro for New Year's Eve.

As a Virginia Mainstreet community and a Virginia historic district, the city of Waynesboro offers endless opportunities. Whether you're looking for arts and cultural centers, great restaurants, museums or specialty and service providers, the pedestrian-friendly environment of downtown Waynesboro is where you'll find it all.
