Living in Weyers Cave, VALocated south of Harrisonburg just off of Interstate 81, Weyers Cave is the epitome of small town America. The town was named for Bernard Weyer who discovered nearby Grand Caverns in 1806, while digging in a groundhog hole. In 1927 a group of students in Weyers Cave formed the Future Farmers of Virginia, which later became known as the national organization called the Future Farmers of America.

With an elevation of 1,154 feet Weyers Cave sees the splendor of all four seasons with mountain views. With a population of 1,320 as of July 2008 Weyers Cave is a lovely small town with several large employers and a central location right in between small historic cities Harrisonburg and Staunton.
This small town in pristine Augusta County is home to the Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport, a local gateway with many connecting flights daily. It is home to Blue Ridge Community College, a public 2 year community college. BRCC offers a variety of courses in a wide array of disciplines. The Virginia Truck Center, a heavy duty truck, trailer and body shop is located just off of Interstate 81 in Weyers Cave. Shreckhise Shrubbery Sales & Landscaping is the local landscape authority. Local giant Houff’s Feed & Fertilizer serves local farmers from its Weyers Cave location. Packaging Services Inc. makes its headquarters in Weyers Cave as well as a Pepsi plant.
